Hanging leg raise

If you're looking for training your abs seriously, try hanging leg raises. These will really hit the lower part of your abs and train your grip strength at the same time, so get ready to be suprised how hard this will get after a couple of reps. If you can't do l pull ups or you just want to stick with ab training, then this is the best thing you can chose. You can use variety of grips while holding the bar but overhand grip is proven to be the most comfortable. Wide grip is also great, as it reduces the unintentional swinging and kiping. Your 6 or 8 pack abs are waiting for you to earn them, so no excuses and go grab that bar and lift your legs up!

L pull up

L pull up is a great exercise that will not also build your upper body, but will also hit your abs like a truck. It's not an easy exercise, it requires a lot of abdominal strength and should be performed as slow as possible. Isometric contraction of your abs will pay out tommorow in sore muscles. If you can't perform this exercise, then try something different like l hang or hanging leg raises. If you can easly do plenty of l pull ups, then kick it up a notch by mixing the exercise with different kind of grips or grip widths. I recomend wide grip, overhand, l leg raise for a killer workout.

One legged push up

Want to add a little more to your bodyweight training routine? Want to train as many muscles as you can, so you can get the most out of your workouts? If yes, then one legged push ups are the way to go! Adding a little twist to your regular push ups, by putting more pressure on your leg muscles, will surely help you build more functional strength and benefit you greatly. You can combine this variation with different hand positioning variations (i.e. wide push up, diamond push up etc.) or even leg positioning (i.e. decline push up) can help you build an ultimate bodyweight workout routine. Try it out!

Diamond push up

This is another hand positioning push up variation, designed to hit your triceps and shoulders like a truck loaded with lead! I tryed to combine this with decline push ups in my bodyweight routine and I have to say, it was hard as hell! Name of this exercise comes from the hand positioning (space between hands is shaped like a diamond). Some also like to call this exercise "triangle push up", but I'm sticking with this name (it's just so fancy!). It's my favourite kind of push up, no doubt. Anyways, enjoy this and keep building your upper body!

Wide push up

Today I'm bringing you another great variation for building your upper body with bodyweight exercises. This exercise is wide grip push up. Designed to hit the most out of your chest muscles (pecs), this is one of the best options for you, if you want to build upper body. Combine it with other variations (like decline push up) and feel the burn tomorrow! Enjoy!

Knee push up

Knee push ups, are perfect if you can't do a single normal push up. These are also great for a warmup. I actually used to do a lot of these back in my Judo training days. We used to do at least 100 every time. Enjoy!

Decline pushups

Today we're going to look at a harder variation of pushups - decline pushups. Been doing these in my routine back in a day. They are really great if you want to add more challange to your workouts. Have fun with these and enjoy the article!

Push up

Pushup is a great basic upper body exercise. Most of you will find it easy, some of you won't. I never had problems with pushups, but I wasn't fantastic at them either. Usually I can do around 50 pushups, but on the other hand i never train for quantity. What makes me really sad is the fact that people who are not into exercises think that pushups are a way to measure someone's strength! The more you do, the stronger you are - they think. Pushups are a great way to build some basic strength, but at some point you will need a harder pushing exercise. Don't worry, there are plenty variations, some will even take years to master. Today I'll present the basic version of pushup. Let's get started!
